The Designer
Meet Giddy, the designer and maker behind Make Me Giddy. Johanna “Giddy” Goldsmith is a designer, creative, and entrepreneur, and has been a passionate mental health advocate for many years. Bringing her two loves together is how MMG came to be. Living with bipolar disorder (type II), generalised anxiety, ADHD and mild OCD has been her greatest challenge, but with a good support network, treatment plan and managing her lifestyle, Giddy has proven that you can live a full and happy life with mental illness.
The Brand
Make Me Giddy (MMG) exists to support your favourite mental health charities. Giddy is always making and creating, and these handmade earrings are designed to start a conversation that's close to her heart. MMG earrings not only look great - they bring you confidence and create a community of like-minded people supporting one another. $5 from every pair of earrings is donated to one of our favourite mental health charities - Lifeline, Beyond Blue, headspace & The Black Dog Institute, to support awareness and research for those in need.
The Earrings
Make Me Giddy earrings are handmade by Giddy herself, from polymer clay. Polymer clay is a wonderful, versatile medium that bakes hard like ceramic clay, but unlike ceramics, will fire at around 130°C rather than the 800°C to 2000°C temperatures. Although polymer clay is durable and strong, it still needs to be handled with care. Every pair is unique and carefully crafted with Giddy’s own two hands, with quality surgical stainless steel earring posts and backings suitable for sensitive ears. These fun earrings start a conversation and are lightweight to wear.
